Donald Trump & The Social Media Revolution | Why He Will Win The Nomination
The Defiant Donald Trump & The Social Media Revolution | Why he will win the nomination.
The 9th GOP debate in South Carolina looked like something right
out of a WWF Showdown, as it took several violent and viscous turns
throughout the night. But beyond all the snide comments and personal
insults, there was another story that seemed to help to explain
why Donald Trump continues to dominate in the polls and in
people's minds.
The passionate anger and extraordinarily viscous antagonism towards the
so called "establishment", that Trump displayed Saturday night,
represents a rather large and growing fraction of the republican
electorate. No candidate in the last 20 years or more has continually
challenged the political system in such a furious and authentic
manner.
Pundits continue to marvel and speculate endlessly in an effort to
explain the Trump Phenomenon. "He's tapping into something"
they say, "he's a celebrity T.V. star" , "he's politically incorrect"
, "he's a straight talker" , "he's the anti-establishment candidate" ,
he's representing the angry voters" , and on and on the sayings
go.
On Saturday night there was only one defiant candidate on the stage,
only one candidate who dared to call out the perpetual lies that have
been mainstream politics for more than a century. Only one candidate
had the stones to call out George Bush for 9/11, to call Ted Cruz
a straight liar right to his face, to blow up the donors sitting
in the audience who were obviously heavily in favor of the Bush and
Rubio philosophies that are no doubt mirror images of their own.
Trump did everything a politician is told to never do. He said things
that Rubio, Jeb, and Kasich simply cannot say, because their donors
do not allow it. Immigration, trade pacs, the Iraq War, lies
about WMD's, how much money Jeb spent in NH, who is getting
special access to the debates, George Bush, 9/11, and so on. Trump
has no filter and he has no fear. This allows him to speak with a
much greater freedom and authenticity, that simply is unmatched by
anyone else on the stage. The passion and furry that Trump
delivers his message with is perhaps as critical to his success as the
actual message itself. Aggression, viciousness, disregard, and disrespect
for the political elites has won Trump an army of followers, including
the writer of this column. While the media spends hours of television
commentary on a curse word or a profanity that Trump muttered during
a campaign rally, a far greater number are completely in tune with the
vitriolic antagonism that Trump endlessly displays towards the political system
that has lost all interest in serving the people of the United States in favor
of serving their donors and their corporate sponsors.
While the Karl Rove's, Megan Kelly's and Rachel Maddow's of world
watch in bewilderment as this crass and unforgiving candidate continues
to dominate the polls, millions more at Drudge Report, Infowars, Youtube, and the
many, many other alternative news forums are responding in near lockstep
to Trump's powerful anti-establishment, anti-media, & anti-corporatism message
that has long held a near monopoly on the US political system.
A revolution is literally underway, whether or not the media or the elite class wants
to acknowledge it. The National Review, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Weekly Standard,
are no longer the only sources of information. Social media has
cut the legs off of the once dominant mainstream news outlets. Consider the fact that Drudge Report is the 142nd
most viewed website on the internet in the United States. Consider the fact that Drudge Report is getting on average
more monthly views than MSNBC, Time Magazine, National Review, The Weekly Standard, Salon, and CBS combined. Drudge
and Infowars combine for more than 1 Billion views per month. A complete powerhouse of online media, that the mainstream political
classes are simply ignoring as if they do not exist. Every single Drudge poll, from every single debate has
given Trump the nod as the winner. Not only does Trump win the online polls, but he dominates them. Over 450,000 people voted
for Trump in the latest Drudge poll, giving him near 60% support. These numbers are nothing short of astounding.
Simply put, Trump is a product of the online media revolution that has now clearly overpowered that of the
dinosaur media on cable television. The corruption that is rampant in politics, economics, banking, immigration, media, and other industrial sectors
is no longer a taboo topic or a little known secret. It is practically an established fact. The staggering and unpredictable rise of Bernie Sanders
can be explained much in the same way. The Clinton's are a known fraud, and the younger more tech savvy democratic voters who are consuming large
amounts of online and alternative media, are heavily breaking for Sanders. So while the old gray haired media continues to wonder in shock and amazement at the current
presidential election cycle, those of us in the alternative media universe are the least bit confused.
